Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Finely is a mobile application developed and operated by Metric Motion Labs, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). Finely lets you photograph physical calendars and automatically sync detected events to your Google Calendar. AI-powered image parsing is provided by our proprietary ScribbleSync service, which we own and operate.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Finely mobile app and all related services. It does not apply to third-party services you connect to Finely, such as Google Calendar, which have their own privacy policies.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create a Finely account, we collect:

• Email address
• Password (stored as a salted hash — we never see your plaintext password)

Google Calendar Connection

When you connect your Google Calendar, we receive and store:

• Your Google account name and email address
• An OAuth refresh token that allows Finely to write events to your calendar on your behalf
• The list of your Google Calendars (names and IDs) so you can choose which calendar to sync to

We do not read, store, or analyze the existing events in your Google Calendar.

Calendar Photos

When you scan a calendar, the photo you capture is sent to our ScribbleSync AI parsing service, which extracts event details (titles, dates, times, categories) from the image. Photos are processed in real time and are not stored after parsing is complete. Extracted event data is returned to your device and, with your confirmation, synced to your Google Calendar.

Usage Data

We store the following data associated with your account:

• Number of scans performed and events created, aggregated by month
• Events you have synced to Google Calendar (title, date/time, category, calendar ID)
• Timestamps of account creation and last login

Analytics

We use Mixpanel to collect anonymized, aggregated analytics about how the app is used (e.g., which features are used most, where users drop off). This data does not include the contents of your calendar photos or events. You can opt out of analytics in the app's Settings screen.

Device and Technical Data

Our backend and cloud infrastructure automatically log standard technical data such as request timestamps, error codes, and anonymized IP addresses for security and reliability purposes. These logs are retained for 30 days and are not used for advertising.

3. How We Use Your Information

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Finely relies on the following third-party services to operate:

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and data practices. We select providers that offer strong data protection commitments.

Google API Limited Use: Finely's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only access the Google Calendar scopes necessary to write events on your behalf. We do not share Google user data with any other third parties or use it for purposes beyond providing the Finely service.

5. Data Retention

• Calendar photos: Not retained. Deleted immediately after parsing.
• Parsed events: Retained in your account until you delete them or delete your account.
• Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active.
• Usage statistics: Retained for the lifetime of your account.
• Server logs: Retained for 30 days, then automatically deleted.
• Analytics data: Retained by Mixpanel per their data retention policy.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights with respect to your data:

• Access: You can view your account information and synced events at any time within the app.
• Delete your account: You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes your email, credentials, synced event records, and usage data from our systems.
• Disconnect Google Calendar: You can revoke Finely's access to your Google Calendar at any time from Settings, or directly from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
• Opt out of analytics: You can disable Mixpanel analytics from Settings → Privacy.
• Data export: To request a copy of your data, contact us at the address below.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under applicable law (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA). Please contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Children's Privacy

Finely is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed password storage, short-lived authentication tokens, and access controls on our backend infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of Finely after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
